Great News! General Motors just released diesel engine pricing on the upcoming 2011 Silverado HD lineup and expected diesel engine price increases DID NOT take place. The 2011 diesel engine pricing for the new "heavier" gross weight 2011 models stayed at the same level as the current 2010 models.
There will be some additional maintenance required on all 2011 diesel equipped trucks in that the new engine emmissions changes now have a diesel emmissions fluid tank or DEF. This fluid, made from urea, is injected into the exhaust system to minimize exhaust pollutants. The new diesel has 65% less emmissions.
This DEF fluid is housed in a 4 to 5 gallon tank that must be kept at an acceptable level or engine performance can be dramatically reduced. The DEF product is expected to cost $4 to $5 per gallon and be readily available at all retail outlets that sell automotive products. Rick Hendrick Chevrolet has a great selection of "current" emmission diesel trucks. Avoid the additional maintenance cost and the 2011 model year increase. CALL US TODAY!
